As soon as France capitulated, resistance organized itself. The Free French Forces (FFL), under the commandment of general de Gaulle carried on fighting with the Allies.
On the main land, the underground forces (FFI) launched sabotage actions, worked in intelligence or organisedthe evasion of the Jews and the Allied paratroopers.
