This richly illustrated monograph pays tribute to all the soldiers who died in Normandy. Numerous period photographs, largely unknown, take us to the field where the bodies were buried in temporary cemeteries. The author lists all the official British, American and German cemeteries created after the end of the war (18 Commonwealth cemeteries with 22,000 soldiers' graves, 2 American necropolises with more than 50,000 graves...).
