The Allied landing beaches in Normandy comprise five beaches where the Allies landed on 6 June 1944 during the Battle of Normandy in the Second World War. Owing to their historical and symbolic significance, an application for the beaches to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List was submitted by the French Government in January 2018.
The beaches are, from west to east, Utah Beach and Omaha Beach (American sector), and Gold Beach, Juno Beach and Sword Beach (British-Canadian sector).
