The 101st Airborne Division is a division of the United States Army trained primarily for airborne assault.
The 101st, nicknamed the "Screaming Eagles" after the image on the division's insignia, distinguished itself in World War II during the Normandy invasion in June 1944. It then took part in Operation Market Garden in September 1944 and in the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.
