In 1944, Russian-born Artist, Boris Chaliapin, promoted the war bonds using the image of General Dwight D. Eisenhower. The organizer of landings in North Africa and Italy, was appointed Supreme Commander of Allied Expeditionary Forces in Europe on 24 December 1943. He became president of the United States in 1953.
